- Dana Goldstein has a lukewarm response to the President’s proposals on education, noting that, away from the rhetoric, Obama has supported poor alternatives for failing schools and has actually encouraged standardized testing.
- Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels delivered the GOP response and focused on the “don’t tattle” defense reserved for 6 year olds called out for punching their little brother — “Obama is mean for pointing out the way our policies have totally stratified the economy and bankrupted you. Make him stop blaming us.“
- In news that’s less “political” and more “awesome,” Navy SEALs flew into Somalia last night to rescue two aid workers who had been kidnapped.
